I've been here twice now and this second visit confirmed it's not for me. The food is decent but overpriced. The service is a joke. After receiving a glass of water while I reviewing the menu, it was 25 minutes before our server returned to see if we were ready to order. This is while there are 2 other tables occupied other than my group of 4. There is no excuse for that. Especially since I could look across the restaurant and see our server hanging out and chatting with her coworkers at the bar.

Cute bar and grill tucked away in a quiet neighborhood on the water. The inside is adorably decorated with nautical themed items and amusing sea sayings on the walls. The bar is stocked with classic domestic favorites and unique brews like a grapefruit IPA and local meade brewers. They also offer rum flights! The food was amazing as well. They do have gluten free options, which included the usual salads and a grilled salmon entree. The sweet potato and chicken fritters were fried to golden perfection abd served with a sauce I would put on everything. The deep fried pickles are served as wedges dipped in corn dig batter which is both interesting and amazing. The burgers were spot on too: cooked to order and delicious. Service was great, atmosphere was fun, and I'll definitely come back.

awesome drinks and prices, great and fast staff. awesome decor and awesome atmosphere.. everyone's food I tried I thought was pretty good. I would order again. I got the shipwreck burger and it was terrible.. I thought it was the egg.. so I took it off.. thought it was the toppings... took them off.. finally find out it was just the meat itself.. I could barely wash it down without throwing up. I'm not a complainer (just on yelp) so I didn't send it back. I don't know if I had a bad burger.. or if that's how they season their meat.. but it was so bad I would never try it again... unless you paid for it and paid me to. gross.. 1 star.. but everything else about the place was cool and I had fun. so 3 stars. wanted to give 5.

Bottom Line: Arrggg, my trip to Mutiny Pirate Bar & Island Grille was certainly more fun than walking the plank but I found the taste of the food to be just too ordinary for the d'bloons. I would go back again if my crew wanted to, but I wouldn't voyage here on my own accord. I really enjoy supporting local businesess so I gathered my mates and set sail for Mutiny Pirate Bar. There are some things I really liked about "the Pirate Bar" and some things I could have done without. If you are debating navigating your way to this Point Pleasant eatery and watering hole, here are some notes to help you decide: What I liked: - The decor is fun, not overly cheesy - $3.75 for 20 oz. Natty Bohs is a great deal - Yo ho ho, freshly muddled cocktails and a wide selection of rum - Most of the staff was friendly - Trivia on Wednesday nights brings out a fun crowd - Patrons are friendly Where I subtracted some stars: - Food seemed pricey. - $6 for a side of average tasting fries - $6 for for six heavily battered onion rings - $15 for the Shellback Sandwich (a Po' Boy) with chips. The sandwich was tasty but still not worth $16. - The Grilled NY Strip Steak arrived pre-sliced which I always find kinda odd. - Bartender had a lot of attitude when asked questions like, "That drink looks delicious. What's it called." Really, this was an opportunity to engage a customer and sell another drink. Regarding parking, I got here before 6pm and didn't have any issues with parking but I do understand parking can be troublesome when its busy. However, it still seems like you could easily park on th street and walk over . . . Charm City Trivia runs trivia nights here on Tuesday. I play trivia almost weely by CCT isn't my favorite beacuse the pace is really slow.

Don't bother going on a Wednesday night unless you are one of the preferred customers who are going to play trivia. Apparently their money spends better than those that just come to eat dinner and they have luxury of being able to reserve tables. Arrived before 5:30 to a nearly empty restaurant and were told that we would have to eat at the bar or outside, but our large party managed to squeeze into one of the very few tiny tables that weren't reserved for trivia which didn't even start until 7. Then, the server was essentially rushing us through our meal and another server even came over and asked us how much longer we were going to be because there were people calling to reserve a table for trivia. If this is going to be the restaurant's policy, they just need to shut the place down on Wednesdays and just be very clear that it's reservations only for trivia. The attitude of the servers was the most disappointing and may affect whether I'll ever be back at all, regardless of the night. My money should be as valuable to a business as someone who comes in to play bar games.

I've tried to like this place, but it just doesn't work for me. It's in a strange location, for starters. The menu is limited, especially for non-meat eaters. I'm always stuck getting a salad and leaving hungry. Even sitting right at the bar, the service is lacking. They are pro's at making you feel invisible. I guess if you are a huge rum fan, this would be the place for you. Otherwise, skip it.

Came here for the first time with my cousin and friend. First of all, they must have every Rum created on be face of this earth!! They have a watermelon cilantro infused Rum. I had the mojito made with it and loved it! They also have a pretty cool Rum club and you can get a personalized cooper cup to use everything's me you come. The trick is you have to have all 6 of their premium Rums (you don't have to do all in one night and they track it on a provided card) to officially become a member. This place was super fun with super friendly staff.

Ate here with a group of 12 on the recommendation of some friends. I think we were all in agreement that the food service was slow but the food was excellent. Our server was as attentive as she could be (it was a packed house Friday night) and even found a way to keep my kids (3 year-old, 1 year-old) entertained. Elder child had the mac n cheese cannonballs, which were very tasty; wife had the fish tacos, which she enjoyed. I had the shipwreck burger, which was humongous and good, but the actual burger (versus all the toppings and the "bun") was very average. If I'm in the area again I'll be back, and maybe I'll take on the shipwreck challenge.

Great food, great bar, great people....OK service but food service at the bar? Awesome! Great concept, and the food is extraordinary. The chef here does a great job.

Really awesome and welcoming bar. The bartenders are friendly and so are the managers. Went with some girlfriends during trivia night! When you pull into the neighborhood where Mutiny is, you'll be like "where the heck am I going?" it's near the water so you're driving through a residential area. The place is pirate décor (as you'll grasp by the name), bar food and drinks. Lots of island spins on their menu items though. I had the chicken caesar salad and it had plantain chips on it. My favorite. The chicken was fantastic. They have a lot of rum punch drinks. I'm not much of a rum drinker so I didn't get one but my girlfriends loved it. The crowd is friendly and lots of different age ranges. I hear that there is a fun karaoke night. I will go back for sure!

Took a long time for our waitress to get our order, well-done burger was burned, my husband's shipwreck burger lost it's top half, it took ten minutes for a mixed drink, the daiquiri wasn't frozen, and my medium burger was really rare. For a mostly empty restaurant, you'd think the servers could be top notch. No. They were more concerned with hanging out with eachother and chatting than doing their job. We can see you ignoring customers and talking. The manager did try to make it up with a free burger and a new daiquiri- maybe it was an off day. Wow though.

Simply amazing. Came all the way from NJ and needed a place to eat after sitting in traffic for hours. Looked on Yelp and discovered this place was nearby. The food and atmosphere was amazing. I'm a Orioles fan and the game was on every TV! Plus Natty Boh was served nice and cold. I was in heaven. Old Bay wings and the Calypso Fries were to die for. This is a must visit.

We were a little wry when we pulled up, but pleasantly surprised with our experience. The food was delicious and my mojito was amazing! We will def be going back. Also, they have a Bloody Mary bar for brunch on the weekends (or maybe just Sunday). Looked pretty awesome.

3 1/2 Stars. 1 Star for the name. I could not resist a pirate themed place either. Also over 80 different types of rum? Shiver me timbers! 1 Star for dog friendly outdoor seating. A very nice outdoor patio with barrel tables. Quiet, set back in a residential neighborhood. 1 Star for food! Mmmm lots of choices all with pirate names! I ended up with the Captain Jack and not just because Johnny Depp is a cool dude. The sandwich sounded good! -1 Star: Service could have been a bit better. It was fast enough, but while it wasn't like the servers were cold towards us, maybe they could have seemed happier or more interested perhaps? -1/2 Star: The barrel tables were cool, but uncomfortable to sit around. Ayyyy matey!

My wife's cousin had a pirate themed wedding in Annapolis so naturally the reception was at the Mutiny Pirate Bar and Island Grille. When you drive to this place, you'll feel like you're in the wrong place because it's all residential, but you'll eventually come to this bar on the water. Surprisingly, this bar is pretty good! They have good food (the nachos were so amazing) and a GREAT beer list that included several ciders. Definitely give this place a chance!

Nice concept. Doesn't seem to work. Partially the wait staff, partially the marketing. First night there our waiter was less then attentive. Went somewhere too often, maybe outside (no one) outside (I smoke and went outside for a cig) in the way of customers, but way too long between bringing drinks, meals and followups. Food was ok, good fries and Cubana sandwich. Second visit was for the 8/24 Mojito/Barbecue end of summer party. The "Barbecue Specials" were the weekend specials printed on the back of their Mojito Menu, very sparce selection in the way of "barbecue" specials. Our waitress did a decent job. The $10.00 ticket charge included a gift ( free Rum T shirt) and at 6:50 the only size left was large. Hope no one came after us that needed any other size. Also included was a free mojito and raffles. We won a $25.00 Gift slip and left at 8. Waitress was pleasant and attentive. Fish and chips, well, one big Fillet of COD?, with a very thick, heavy batter. Sauce was needed with it and was better then the fish. TOO bad, I was really looking forward to the evening and finding a good unique Pub/restaurant.

Great food. It looks out of place and not what it seems, but on the inside its gorgeous and the food is delicious. They have a great atmosphere and great rum drinks.

Did not eat, but I learned more about Rum than I ever thought I would know. I really appreciate bartenders who are passionate about their craft. Many have tried to get me into rum before; thanks to this bartender I am coming around. I have to say this blows my local pirate bar out of the water for class and service. Rum flights are well constructed to educate and enjoy without blowing a ton of money. Will def go back.

I frequently buy Groupon's or LivingSocial deals on a whim and I should really stop doing that for places that are in areas where I never ever go. The Mutiny Pirate Bar and Grille seemed intriguing, especially since the cook formerly worked at the Iron Bridge Wine Company. However, I have zero reason to ever be in Glen Burnie so I'd forgotten all about this until I got an email from LivingSocial reminding me that this was expiring next weekend. So, with a completely free weekend, we came for dinner last night. It's in a weird residential location. When we pulled into the parking lot, there were pretty views of whatever creek the restaurant is near. I was hoping the reason the restaurant was in this location was because it also had a nice water view, but, we walked into the darkest restaurant I've probably ever been in, with no open windows sooo I'm gonna assume there was no view. The inside was neat though, and pirate-y without being tacky. Although one of the framed quotes about wanting to slit people's throats was odd at best... We just got a bucket of fries to start with and my husband got the Berger cookie beer. The fries are good and whatever the orange "Mutiny Sauce" is was pretty good. I ordered the blackened salmon with jasmine rice and the Old Bay corn/potato salad. The salmon was fine but kind of flavorless. The jasmine rice was dry and completely flavorless. Thankfully the potato salad was pretty awesome. My husband got the Shipwreck burger, which was 10x better than my dinner. Instead of a bun, the burger is sandwiched between two thin grilled cheese and bacon sandwiches, and has an onion ring, BBQ sauce, and a fried egg. I generally wouldn't even touch something with a fried egg on it but this burger was delicious and I was feeling major order regret. The bar area looked pretty neat and their rum flights and passport program sounded cool. I imagine if we lived nearby it would be likely we'd return to try it again soon (and I imagine this is a pretty popular place with the neighbors who live within walking distance).

45 minute wait for mediocre food. 15 minutes before getting a seat and seeing a waitress. Owner /manager said this is what happens when your employees call out....over cooked wings, a loaf of bread wrapped around a really good piece of cod was their fish and chips, don't bother. Not a good evening. I wanted a Mutiny! !

I was pleasantly surprised with this place. It was nice inside the drinks were really good. The only complaint is i felt like i was bothering the waitress by being there and her having to help us.

My expectations and the actual experience were two different things. Don't run away based on this place being in the middle of a neighborhood in an odd looking building. The interior was cozy and clean. The menu has enough variety for everyone in our party to find something good. The beer menu was very good. The service was fantastic. My fish tacos were about as good as any I've had outside the West Coast. I'd ordered something else when the waiter mentioned these, so I changed. I like that the sides were rice and black beans and not the standard fries or cole slaw I've had elsewhere. I will definitely return here. My parents raised us with the "don't judge a book by its cover" mantra. This place is a prime example of that.

This is a great little rum bar. They also have some great beer selections here as well. It's a cozy little place it's not very big. But it is not a dive bar They have great food however the menu is rather small. But it's a great little place.

Food was good for what you'd expect. Typical pub food, nothing fancy. Staff is welcoming, although bar tender did not know her beers (slight pet peeve of mine). We would go back again. It does get crowded and the lot is small. Make sure you park in assigned spots. 4 stars is based on the food and prices (2 20oz beers, a burger, appetizer, special dinner plate and an orange crush for $50) - knowing this is a bar based restaurant.

Good food. Great atmosphere. Decent beer selection. Rum passport club will be in my future. I had the BBQ samich really good. They have a bangers and beans special that was good too. Guinness was my drink of choice today. While my boyfriend started the 5 flights required to get into the passport club, and he was pleased so far.

What a gem! I've lived in GB for a long time (including at one point on 2nd Street, which is about 2 minutes away from Mutiny), and I never knew this place existed! It's in a residential area which is odd, but it's fantastic. Our server was quite the charmer, going dig for dig with my husband and not getting flustered once. :) My husband tried the shipwreck burger and LOVED it. I had the NY strip steak with their old bay grilled corn potato salad (phenomenal!) and green beans. Both delectable. We sat on the deck, which was nice since the weather wasn't too hot or sticky. Oh, and try the zombie (a drink)! So good! Finally, we tried the dessert on special: strawberry-rhubarb crumble. It's freakin' heaven in your mouth!!! Reminded me of college since I went to school in the Midwest; strawberry rhubarb everything all the time. Lol. The only thing that was lackluster? The music wasn't so hot, but I can live through that. :)

I love this bar! The way I describe it to people is you either have a good bar with okay food or a good restaurant with an okay bar but this place is the best of both worlds. Over 100 rums from all over the world (join the rum club if you like to explore), great beer selection and delicious food. I have never had a bad meal here. Granted, service can be a little on the slow side if they are super busy, like on Wednesdays during trivia. Try coming at an off hour if you don't like crowds. We usually try to get in before 6 so we can enjoy some happy hour specials and it is still empty enough that we feel like the only ones there. Sit at the bar and ask Paige for recommendations. She has never steered us wrong. She also makes great drinks! All the other staff are great too. We have only had a problem during a meal once and our waitress and the manager made it right immediately and made sure we were happy before we left.

Oh Hoi me ship mates!! There's no need throw a mutiny when visiting this fine establishment. The food is fresh and the drinks are wet and strong for a pirate! Especially if you are into rum, you're bound to find something new due to their vast collection. As for myself, I was really enjoyed the Bermuda Triangle fish tacos. My order included a spread of three beer battered atlantic cod dosed with salsa fresca, red cabbage, chipotle ranch and black beans and coconut basmati rice sides. The fish was light, crisp with plenty of cod. I enjoyed the dish so much that it reminded me of my fish taco experience in San Diego. The only negative is how secluded Mutiny Pirate Bar & Island Grille is from the main roads. But then again, isn't this how pirates operate? In secrecy cloaked in the dark?! So take the plunge mates and try it !

Buried treasure! Hard to find without GPS directions but well worth the expedition. Don't let the nautical puns on the menu fool you - the food is noteworthy and the rum selection is so long it has its own passport to help you navigate. Order the Scurvy Nachos to start and the Old Bay Catfish for your main and you will not be disappointed.

This place is simply amazing, if you can find it! I have gone here several times with friends and we all have enjoyed the food and drinks. They always have some weekly special on the menu which is why I signed up for their emails. Rum is the choice beverage here and they have like a hundred rums to choose from. Food was good everytime we dined here. From fish tacos to burgers to gumbo, no complaints on the dishes. Service is a bit slow which holds this place to a 4 star. Other than that, this is a place to try out if you're in the area.

This was our second time to give Mutiny another try. The first time we sat outside had a couple of drafts and their nachos for happy hour. The nachos were a bit dry needing more topping. We decided to have dinner else where. Yesterday we went back at happy hour, mentioned our dry nachos and the waitress made sure they were just right! So we ordered the brussel sprouts. There was a few whole sprouts but more shredded pieces, good but better when we asked for remoulade. We ordered the Cuban sandwich and one of the specials pot roast quesidilla. The menu has wonderful descriptions of food, but sadly the food does not live up to it. The waitresses are nice. The happy hour prices fair. And the rum drinks are good, actually can taste the rum! We may return for happy hour, but not dinner. Diamondback is still our go to place!

This place is in a residential neighborhood, you wonder if you got lost. We got there at 10 p.m. and it was not crowded. The bar is stocked well with liquor and good beers. I ate the crab soup, which was beef soup, only, substitute crab for beef. It was ok. I sampled some Crab Dip and Chips. The crab dip was good. I also enjoyed the Fish and Chips. A nice chunk of fish served with a lot of greasy fries. I also enjoyed two different beers Heavy Seas Cutlass Amber (3.5) and Blue Point Toasted Lager (3.0) The bartender was really nice and helpful with Food and Beers. The crowd was kind of a hipster crowd, some girl was reading a book at the bar. Really?? All in all, I would go there again. Try to go later and avoid a larger crowd, your experience may be better. 3.5 Stars.

After seeing all the reviews on this place I really wanted to love it, but it just didn't quite make it to the level of "love"... The atmosphere inside isn't as pirate-campy-rennfest'ish as I was assuming it was going to be, which was a good thing. Wine Barrels converted into high top tables, a few framed pirate sayings here and there on the walls, and a skeleton at the front door. But beyond that just a very nice cozy pub feel inside. Plenty of flat screen tv's around the bar for sports watchers. Definitely a place that could be fun for a happy hour with friends. In keeping with the pirate theme, their drink specials are all rum based and they have their own Rum Club for those that want to experience rum straight up in the form of themed rum flights, (e.g. dark rums, light rums, golden rums, spiced rums, and aged rums). Apparently once you've drank 20 you get a free meal, 50 you get an embroidered t-shirt, and at 100 you get your own engraved copper mug behind the bar. If you're a rum lover, DO NOT MISS doing a neat shot of the "Kilo Kai spiced rum from Curacao. The wait staff is very friendly, very attentive, and very knowledgeable about their food and drink options. No complaints on that count at all. But the food was where I wasn't quite able to reach the level of love with MPB... When I read on their website that they acquired Jake Howard from the Iron Bridge Wine Company, my expectations may have been set a little too high right from the start. They describe their menu as "Upscale Pub Food with a Caribbean influence". And while there were a couple items on the menu that had a slight Caribbean twist, for the most part they were pretty standard menu choices with pirate themed names like the "Kraken Tentacles" (deep fried calamari), and "The Captain Jack" chicken sandwich. We ordered the fish taco's and the seafood gumbo... The fish tacos were filled with what appeared to be chopped up frozen, heavily battered cod fillets (Strike #1). Locally available fresh Rockfish or even regular unbreaded cod or tilapia would be totally acceptable. But the batter made it almost impossible to taste the fact that fish was even the main ingredient. The orange Chipotle Ranch dressing was also nearly flavorless, which leads me to believe was just off the shelf grocery store dressing from a bottle rather than anything created in the kitchen (Strike #2). If you have to use Chipotle from a bottle, jazz it up a little. Chipotle's main characteristics are a little heat and smokey flavor. So squirt the dressing into a mixer, mix in some smoked paprika, maybe a little fresh jalapeno for a little kick. An Iron Bridge chef should be able to add a little more creativity.... The Seafood gumbo actually was flavorful and a reasonably good interpretation of cajun tomato based gumbo. But here, flavor wasn't the issue, Portion size was the miss (Strike #3). The jumbo shrimp weren't jumbo, the cajun andouille sausage was sliced into pizza pepperoni thin slices, and the chicken thigh meat was in cubes half the size of dice, the gumbo itself was a diminutive portion spread on a plate (not in a bowl), and even the rice, which was the cheapest component in the dish, was only a small serving spoon full at best in the middle of the dish. At any other restaurant, something this small would have been in the Appetizer section labeled as a "Small Plate" dish on the menu, not an Entree. As a drinking establishment and a place to get your Pirate fix over exotic rums from around the Caribbean, I'd give this place 5 stars. As an eating establishment, the menu really needs to be rethought out and the lack of creativity needs to be addressed if MPB wants to tout having an Iron Bridge chef in the kitchen and call its menu selections "Upscale". If I was to only rate MPB on their current menu as a restaraunt, I'd be hard pressed to give them 2 stars. Hopefully this will turn around, because I'd love to be able to say I "love" Mutiny Pirate Bar & Grille.

Sorry to say I went back and was once again disappointed. Mussel night on 3/16 was cancelled because of their St Patrick's specials. This is the second time we've been on a Monday and mussel night was cancelled due to some other event. We always come specifically for mussel night and I know for a fact we aren't the only ones. I just don't understand scheduling events on a day where people come in for the weekly specials. Customers appreciate consistency. We stayed anyway - I got the fish tacos and they had no taste. My husband got bangers and mash and the sausage was burnt. The service was faster than last time and the server was nice. I really want to like this place, but there's just been too many bad experiences.

I am giving this place 5 stars for the drinks!! Had the best martini EVER! Coconut cream pie! Also my Mojito was delish! Service was a little slow but to be fair the poor bartenders were totally slammed so you cant be mad at them. Also the pineapple upside down rum cake was delish! I suggest getting it with ice cream. My skirt steak wasn't bad. Could have been better. My husband got the burger with the egg on top. It was really big and messy but that was to be expected. Could have been seasoned a little better. Wings were good, very meaty. All in all a good hang out off the beaten path. Plan on going back soon. Friendly staff.

This place is great. I went for brunch here with four other friends and I swear the food was heaven. I got a fried egg grilled cheese....so good. Our waitress was also super nice, and she was always right there if we needed anything! I will definitely be coming back soon!

We thoroughly enjoy Mutiny! I was just there on 11-26-14 with several of my buddies. Our server Ron is the best. We tried all the appetizers during happy hour and all were perfect. Two weeks ago we visited with three other couples and enjoyed ourselves immensely. The service has always been consistently great. I've had both Paige and Ron as servers and bartenders and usually stay with what works. Mutiny has a nice atmosphere where it's easy to meet new people. The other evening we ended up meeting four other people sitting next to us. Several of us are going back on the 29th for another good time.

Warning: VERY thorough review. TL;DR version: Mutiny is my favorite place freaking ever. Try it. Get the shipwreck burger (and a heart attack). The beer is cheap. Unfortunately, the place can be crowded too. They also have great specials and desserts. Long version: Go here. Truly. I love it. Yes, it does have its faults at times, but I don't care. I love it anyway. "But why the five star review when it's flawed?" you say? In my opinion, I can overlook anything that was ever wrong with Mutiny. That's how much I love it..... Which is getting dangerously close to how I feel about my wife... Here are the issues that I've seen: It's small and popular. This can be a recipe for a crowded table. Service is at times a little slow, but not to the point of wanting to walk out slow. Every once in a while some of the sandwiches, particularly the pulled pork, are a bit soggy. The crabby fries and Maryland crab soup are salty. The menu is not vegetarian friendly (If you're into that kind of thing) Now forget that entire list. Here's the first thing that got me: The shipwreck burger. It's essentially a heart attack on a grilled bacon and cheese. By that I mean it's a burger that is ground in house, topped with a fried egg, onion rings, and rum bbq sauce Here's the kicker: they use two grilled bacon and cheese sandwiches as a bun. Truly amazing and sickening at the same time. I've eaten it twice. And I hate myself for it. The rest of the sandwiches are awesome as well. Yes, the occasional too juicy pulled pork or shredded short rib sandwich (which has a fried egg on top) isn't the best, but even soggy it's pretty damn good. They're huge and really pretty reasonably priced for the quality of food. I'd say the food is much better than DuClaw but cheaper... Hopefully you're familiar with DuClaw. Two: They have the cheapest beer.... anywhere. Unless you're going to a happy hour, you can't find good beer (Flying Dog) for 4.50. That's a 20 oz. Everywhere else I've ever been, micro brew is $6+. Three: More than 115 kinds of rum and a passport-based rum club that rewards you for drinking. That's my kind of ship! Four: All of their desserts are made in house every day. And they're some of the best I've had. They have specials all week, which are usually amazing, but if you're not on their mailing list you sometimes have to ask about them. It depends on your server. There is a food challenge every Tuesday. It's massive and probably has more calories than you should eat in two days, but if you're doing a food challenge, why would you care? Wednesdays are trivia nights, starting at 7. Your warning: it gets super crowded. Seriously. That said, their prizes are pretty much straight alcohol. A round of rum for your entire team if you win a round. They did 8 rounds when I played. Mutiny my favorite place regardless of flaw, and I've suckered... I mean invited... several of my friends here. All of whom are now regulars and members of the rum club. It's worth a try. Mutiny is the last place I need within a ten minute drive to my house. Goodbye retirement savings...

Ahoy! I've been eye balling this place since it opened and I'm really glad that Jen M. suggested this place for brunch. Pirates and brunch in the Burnie? I won't lie, it is VERY out of the way. This place is a Glen Burnie gem. It is tucked away in a residential neighborhood off of route 2 and Furnace Branch Road. While it might be out of the way, it is worth the trip. Cantler's in Annapolis is the same way. It's probably a 10 min cab ride from the Coast Guard Base in Curtis Bay. GPS works well in guiding you to this place. Rumor has it that it's affiliated with the Iron Bridge Wine Bar in Columbia... Rum in Glen Burnie and Wine in Columbia....pure awesomeness. If you like earning rewards by drinking and eating your way there. This is the place to be. They have "Rum Club" where you can earn a free dinner for 10 after you have had all 145 varieties of rum they have. Now I signed up for the challenge, but I wussed out and just had the dark rum flight. All of these were very tasty. The one from Nicaragua was my favorite. Contrary to what you are thinking the food here is excellent. It's not greasy bar food at all. All of their food is made from fresh ingredients. The fish tacos were amazing. The fish was fresh and the fix'ns and sauce were great. I believe all of their sauces are made in house. We also devoured a dozen of Choptank oysters in about 7 minutes....those were amazing as well. Not only was the food good, but it was CHEAP! I think I only spent about $30 there. This place is definitely a local dive. But its a very well decorated dive. You will definitely feel like you are at Tiki bar in Caribbean. The wood decor and the Nautical Theme will make you want to grab yourself a peg leg and an eye patch. So does anyone else think that Urban Pirates in Fell's Point should make a stop here on their daily cruises? That would be outta control!

The prices are high. I mean, you're a neighborhood bar in Glen Burnie. Large turn out on Wednesdays for trivia. Get there early for a table The parking lot is awful, crowded and it shares it with the people that live around the bar. They have Guyanese rum which is a plus. Good yet pricey drinks.

went here on a Tuesday with a party of ten and a baby, was seated very quickly, our waiter was very attentive and entertaining! their wings are delish! so were the mac and cheese balls! the shrimp in my burger was on the over cooked side but still awesome! will deff recommend

Be warned if you are looking at their hours. They are potentially misleading. I know it's not that helpful to read a review that has no knowledge of the food, but if you say you're open till 10, I think turning customers away at 9:35 is poor business practice. If you stop serving at 9:30, your hours are till 9:30.

A very good first experience! After being seated service was a little shoddy at first, but that's okay because we were waiting on two others to arrive. Really enjoy the interior decor, the signs and pictures on the wall, and the overall layout of the restaurant. While we were waiting I had a Mutiny Mojito, which was fairly great. We also started with the Moby Pickle appetizer which was one whole pickle which is then quartered and fried with a beer batter and served overtop a small pool of spicy ranch. If the skin of the pickle was removed it would've been phenomenal. That being said it was still very good. Once everyone else arrived service picked up, our waitress was spot on with service. I had a rum runner after the Mojito and let me say this: my favorite rum runner I've had to date. A perfect blend, for me, of fruit juices and rum. And the prices of the mixed drinks were not bad at all, 6 bucks for a Mojito and 8 for a rum runner... of course I may just be used to the overpriced drinks often found in the 'modern' bars in DC and downtown Baltimore. For dinner my wife had the fish and chips, which came with a very large cod fillet and a good sized portion of fries. She wasn't able to finish either, and for both of us the cod was excellent. I had the Davey Jones burger, which was okay. The beef was excellent, the grilled shrimp was great, as was the bun it was all served on but a lack of suace left for a rather dry overall outcome. Next time I'll ask for extra sauce/add regular mayo and I'm sure it'll make for a fantastic burger. For dessert we had the banana split, which was inclusive of a deep fried snickers bar, hearty scoop of vanilla ice cream, a split banana and all topped with chocolate syrup. It was fairly great, and definitely original! Can't wait to go back and try their other interesting menu items and their other mixed drinks!

Over priced! Huge selection of liquors, infusions and beers. Off the beaten path, right on the water, small interior - meant for locals. Clean, good service, mediocre food that is over priced. I bought a salad there the other night and was really disappointed, the lettuce barely covered the bottom of the bowl, the "mango" was chopped candied mango tiny pieces from a bag, the plantain was also from a bag and there was barely enough dressing to cover the tiny bit of lettuce. There was hardly any Parmesan cheese and the 4 shrimp, which we paid extra for, were either from a can or badly de-thawed. The Nachos were average, the chicken tasted great on them (jerk chicken), but there was probably an 1/8 of a cup of chicken of the entire plate (and that is being generous). The oysters are really good! The crab dip is OK, but there are better around town. The fried pickles are pretty good too. Depends on the server, but ours was really nice the other night, not only was she quick to deliver but she was friendly and provided her insight on food and beverages.

I purchased a deal for this place on Living Social and took my boyfriend out to dinner here- he loves anything having to do with pirates. It was really good! I was surprised that I had never heard of it before because I grew up around Glen Burnie. From the website, I had thought that the place would be an actual boat on the water with views of the water, but it's actually just a small place near the water in a suburban neighborhood (hence why I gave 4 stars instead of 5). It was dark, so I could only see the water a bit away from the parking lot- but DON'T let that deter you! The ambiance is great. Pirate-ship-like setting, great music, TV's all around, and friendly staff. The rum selection is nuts! So many choices. And the happy hour menu was delicious and also affordable. One thing that drew me to this place is that one of the cooks used to work at Iron Bridge restaurant - a fancy wine bar in Clarksville, MD that is known for good food. Our food was delicious, and we are planning to go back again soon. If I lived in the neighborhood around this place this would definitely be my favorite local "watering hole".

Well this bar was very interesting but kind of in a different location seemingly residential. Once you get inside it's a very fun atmosphere. Drinks are reasonable as is the food for a bar. Service is good the music is interesting especially when you go on a karaoke night as I did. Its worth trying out but a little hard to find.

This place is amazing! Great service from Dave, as always, and wonderful food. I get the steak almost every time and have yet to be disappointed. The fish tacos were once on their happy hour menu before being added officially to the standard menu. Not to be missed. Dave recommended the short rib sandwich and wow! To die for! This is definitely a place to check out if you want a fun atmosphere (there's a pirate skeleton with a permanent seat at the bar), amazing food, and rum. Don't forget about the rum choices (kilo kai -spiced rum -try it! ) oh, and you can even buy a bottle to go if you need to.

My wife and I went here for the first time a few months ago. Since then, we have been many times with friends and family. Every time we go, the people we take with us are going for the first time and they always say how much they like us. We have never waited for a seat; probably because the location is a little hidden considering it is back in a neighborhood. Although, it can still get a little busy. I like the crab dip fries, hamburger, as well as the fish and chips. For desert, we always get the banana split, which includes a deep fried Snickers bar. This is outstanding! They often have coupons in various ads and I was told you can get discount gift certificates at Costco.

I look at these four star reviews and wonder, what am I missing? The food was horrible, it seemed like we spent the majority of our time waiting, and the bathrooms were pretty appalling. Oh, and parking can be tricky. The food...we had crabby fries, fried pickles and onion rings as appetizers for the table. The crabby fries were probably the best, but VERY salty. The drinks were overall ok, but pretty weak (my friend sent one back because it tasted like cough syrup). For entrees we selected the fish tacos and a basic burger. The burger came out rare (asked for medium well) and the fish in the tacos were just not good. However, the rice with the fish tacos was amazing. And we had the key lime pie and molten chocolate cake for dessert. Both were very tasty. Best part of the meal by far. The service was incredibly slow. I mean just terrible. I hate to be so critical because our server was very nice and I would have to say overall the employee were very pleasant. It took between 30-40 minutes to get our appetizers and a refill on drinks. I recommend just sitting at the bar...they seemed to have their act together. I feel like I have to give the place another try because the reviews seem to be so positive. Maybe they have their act together in the summertime? I was just so disappointed with this place and I had such high hopes.

I frequent here quite often and to be honest if was the pirate motiff that reeled me in. Come for rum and pirates, but definitely stay for the food. The best thing hands down is the Seafood Gumbo....rich, spicy, nicely cooked shrimp...it's all there. Now if they happen to offer their Oxtail Stew as a special...GET IT! Absolutely amazing! As for the bar, they have imaginative and tasty cocktails and over 100 rums!

I came here for a happy hour with a few of my co-workers. It was one of the best bars I've been to in the area! As far as the food goes, I got a crab pretzel that I thoroughly enjoyed. That was the extent of the food I encountered, but I've heard a lot of good things about the other items they offer! On the drink front, I'm not sure about pricing because I didn't pay for my drinks, but what I did get was great! I'm an odd customer at bars; I always as the bartender to make me something 'girly and sweet, but strong.' This doesn't always turn out well. This occasion, however, turned out fabulously! The bartender was a pretty, tattooed lady who gave me a rum-runner. It was delicious! After two I was in a good place. The only knock I can say is that it's a bit tucked back in a neighborhood, but a good loaction anyway as it sits fittingly on the water. Can't wait to go back!

Ate here for the first time. I had the old bay fried shrimp appetizer and the Cubano sandwich. My date had the fish tacos. Service was great, food was better. Good regional beers on tap. I applaud the effort to bring this type of restaurant into our community.

I really wanted to love this place. But I'm neutral, we went on a Saturday night for dinner. We ordered calamari, I make judgements on how well a restaurant can pull off a good calamari. Fail #1. The calamari was tender but slightly underdone, not crispy. Absolutely no taste in the breading, it was supposed to be served with a spicy tomato sauce, but tasted like tomato water. First time I have had to actually salt restaurant food. We were starving and it was edible. My side salad came with the appetizer. It was a good salad, nice fresh field greens, except the dressing (chipotle ranch) was also devoid of taste. I began to to think it was me, but the hubbie (who eats anything) also commented on the lack of taste. Main course, the swabbie, a pot roast sandwich, which sounded incredible, but at this point my expectations were low. Sandwich...you guessed it, bland. I never have to salt my food, but I made good use of that shaker to make some flavor come out. A person other than our server stopped by and asked how we liked the food, I mentioned the seasoning, he apologized and gave me a certificate for a free appetizer... I can't say I want to go back, although it is close to home I eventually will give it another try, maybe. Free appetizer not enough to make me definetly want to go back. The crowd was heavy, it was loud, and people were smoking on the deck leading to the front door. So basically walking through a cloud of smoke to get in and out. I smoke, but I hate this. Walk away from the door, out of repeat for the nonsmokers.

I give this place 3 stars bc I really really like one dish, thought a couple others were okay, but the remainder of dishes were too salty. The majority of the specialty dishes i have ordered from this place, as well as the crab dip from the menu, Have been over salted. I think it is the seasoning they put on the chips served with the dip that cause the whole thing to hurt my tongue. I have complained about the saltiness of a remoullade (sp) once and the waitress took it to the kitchen then brought it back to me, explaining that the chef said it is the capers & capers are salty. No offering of any less salty sauce whatsoever--which I thought was odd. Particularly since I have had many dishes with capers that did not cause my tongue to shrivel up upon contact. Nonetheless, I love Love LOVE the mussels in tomato beer broth, I literally used a shell as my scoop and drank that broth out of the dish, scoop by scoop; almost smacking that waiters hand when he tried to take my dish. Coconut Shrimp curry & fish tacos are good. Husband was not impressed with the hangar steak. Good looking clean & shiny restaurant. Would definitely return just for the mussels.

Crab Dip is a must! The last time I was here was for an informal business meeting and it was the weekend before Halloween. TIP: Sit at the bar! Our server was, how do I put this kindly...kind of dull. Friendly enough but not very bright. He brought everyones drink but mine and then told me I didn't order one. Which I did. After that it was hit or miss as far as how often he came to the table and he seemed totally uninterested in us. The first time we sat at the bar though, was great. The regulars made us feel welcome and the bartender was super friendly, attentive and on top of our drinks. It's a little out-of-the-way but worth stopping in for a drink or 4.

There are several qualities you must have to enjoy this place. 1-Like really salty food. 2-Enjoy craft beer or rum flights 3-Be obsessed with pirates I am none of these things. I'm giving one star for unique and clean. The other is for our really nice waitress. I started with the watermelon mojito off the specialty drinks menu. It was tasty, but lacked any hint of rum. I get buzzed off half a glass of wine. This drink did zero for me. The Cuban sounded incredible. It wasn't. It tasted like a grilled pickle and mustard sandwich with cheese and salt. The whole thing was just wrong. The fries were plentiful but tiny. My husband gave up and ate his with a fork. The captain jack sandwich (grilled chicken, jack cheese, jalapeño mayo) got good reviews from my husband. I tried my son's turkey wrap. It was nothing special. For the prices they charge, I was expecting a whole lot more. Note-Do not bring your young children here. It is not that kind of place. Our was well behaved and we toughed it out. Besides having a booster seat, this is not for families.

I decided to try this restaurant after purchasing a Livingsocial deal. I was excited that it was close to our house and the reviews overall were good. First of all, this is definitely not a kid friendly restaurant. No kids menu but they did say that they could make us a grilled cheese or chicken quesadilla, neither of which my children like. The fish tacos were bland and way over priced for battered fish. The pulled pork was good and the fries were okay. I don't think that I will be returning to this restaurant in the future.

If you like rum, this is the place to go. If you like good food, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO. I have no idea how long this place had been in around, but if it was here when I lived in Glen Burnie a few years ago I feel like I had been missing out on something pretty damn awesome. The bartender was cool, although took some warming up to; but he had a very good knowledge of everything on the menu (which changes each season apparently). This place is definitely a bit in the backwoods of the area, but so worth the trip.

One word...AMAZING!!! Have been several times since our boat is at the marina there. Every dish is delish, service is great, and the drinks are soooo tasty! The crab dip with homemade Old Bay chips is truly the best I've ever had! A must go for anyone who likes food; )

I really want to give this place a higher rating. From the outside it looks like a shack in the middle of nowhere Glen Burnie, but the inside is very well designed- like the interior of an old wooden ship. The menu items have a lot of potential. I've had the Shipwreck Burger which is two grilled cheese sandwiches with a hamburger, fried egg, and onion ring in between. It was amazingly enormous. But unfortunately, it lacked flavor. In fact, everything I tried tasted rather bland. It seems like if they just added some flavorful cheese and basic seasoning, they could turn it around rather spectacularly. But as far as a cool place to come and watch football and try their rum flight, this is a charm with a lot of class in a blue collar city filled with hole in the wall bars.

Stumbled across this little bar/pub after being bored with what Glen Burnie has to offer. Pirates are awesome and I liked the atmosphere. Very small dark place. Surprisingly, the food was pretty awesome! Crabby fries were great and the watermelon mojito was amazing! The only reason I took off stars was because the service was bad and it took forever to get the food. Food was worth the wait though! Would definitely come back for the food!

Found out this place was right in my neighborhood. Seriously, I didn't even have to leave my neighborhood streets to go here. It was like going to someone's house down the street, but a good place to eat and Drink! The food was good. Ordered calamari as an appetizer and it was on the upper end of the spectrum of calamari I've had. I just ordered a burger and the burger was cooked as I wanted and tasty. The fries were great as well. Great beer selection, but then I discovered the Rum flights. I've never been much of a Rum expert and the flights I tried may have sparked my interest. Usually been a bourbon/scotch person myself. Found some new favorites that gave me a new-found respect for Rum I will be back.

This palce is pretty cool. I mean you would not know it from the outside becuase you are literally next to homes and it seems a bit small. Once you walk in though it is filled with Pirate-ly goodness. I originally came here with a fellow Yelper friend who wanted to show me the rum passport. There is a huge menu of rum that you can choose from and with the passport there are certain incentives for drinking more and more rum. So I tried that out and was given a good amount of mixed rum. Im not a rum fan to begin with, but the selections were good. The food was good as well. I ordered a chicken sandwich and it came out hot and fresh and was a really good portion. The staff was nice and attentive. The restaraunt was clean and tidy and was not all that busy for a Saturday night. The bar was nice as well, had plenty of seating for everyone. Overall the atmosphere was good and I will definately go back for some rum to stamp my passport!

Good food, friendly service. The main draw back it is Always too loud to hear you dinner guests. They know how to cook meats to correct temp, a skill many places can't seem to get right. When you order medium rare, it actually comes out medium rare. Fun vibe, good food!

Excellent service and really good food. We had brought our two kids (7 &10) and they were very accommodating for what we wanted for them. Wife had the pulled pork sandwich, which was very tender and moist. Lots of flavor. I had the fish and chips, the fish was moist and the fries were very good. Also bartender was not stingy on the alcohol in the drinks. Can't wait to go again.

Getting to the Mutiny Pirate Bar is interesting. It is in the middle of a residential area. Even the parking is shared between residents and customers. However, once we were done we were very glad we found this place. Ambiance: it's a cool hangout place. It doesn't strike me as the place where 21 yr olds go to party. It was more of a place where young adults 20's to 40s go for fun, meet up after work, enjoy the game and some great food and mixes. We went on a Friday around 7pm and there was even a family with children having a good time. The food: We ordered a 1/2 pound burger with shrimp inside. The food was amazing. I was truly astonished that this place could have such fantastic food. Turns out, their chef used to be the chef at the Iron Bridge Wine Company, which is a pretty high class restaurant in Columbia Md and Warrenton Va. The staff: very friendly, accommodating, and fun. I fully recommend it. Go have fun with the decor and pirate theme too :-)

Sometimes this place can get a bit loud but the service is good and the wait staff are friendly and fun. I love the rum flights - not too much just right. The shipwreck burger is a coronary waiting to happen but fun to watch people trying to eat it. Came here with friends several times. The food is hot and as ordered. I will visit again and again.

I have no idea for the life of me how this place mustered up a 4 star rating. I found myself bewildered at what exactly within the restaurant constituted good execution of a pirate theme other than costumed servers. Speaking of servers... we had 3 during our dining experience which even further confuses me why we were ALWAYS W-A-I-T-I-N-G!!!!!!! The crab corn chowder lacked any trace of crab, was primarily based of canned mixed precut vegetables, and came out sort of lukewarm. The flashfried calamari was more superdeep fried and chewy than I would have liked. The Fish & chips entree was superb! Hands down, one of the most memorable fish & chips dinners I've ever had & cooked perfectly. The jack rackham burger was pretty bland other than being smothered in hot sauce & BBQ sauce slathered together. Most disappointing, were the incredibly watered down cocktails. Really wanted to like this place but it turned out to be a real bummer.

I love the food, and no it's not too salty, I have friends who have majored in culinary arts and have eaten here and they love it as well. If you don't like rum or craft beers then don't come here, but if you do then you're really gonna like the selection. The service is good, the staff remembers you from prior visits. The specials are fun and imaginative. Stop giving bad reviews for a rum bar when you don't like rum, it's idiotic.

Wow! We don't live anywhere near this restaurant but we always try to find a way to get to it. You will wonder if your GPS is off course when you wind though a little neighborhood to get there and it looks like a dive bar from the outside. But the food is top notch. They give a generous portion of fish for their fish tacos. The Old Bay potato salad is amazing. I'm hoping the chef permanently puts the Mahi Mahi over Parmesan grits special on the menu. There is lots of rum to be had and a great chocolate peanut butter lava cake for dessert.

I've got a crush on this bar like Samantha Baker had on Jake Ryan in 'Sixteen Candles'. Just wanted to get that out of the way. Showed up for Sunday brunch right at the noon opening, and were greeted by a smiling hostess and then by the owner (moving throughout the tables, helping with the service, answering questions and having fun - always a good sign). We were expertly helped through the extensive rum menu and the 'Rum Club' requirements (if you like rum there is no excuse for not frequenting). We started with a few well-crafted rum flights while perusing the distinct menu. It's classic, but with creative twists that will please the average patron and the foodie looking for something fun. With three of us at brunch, we decided to branch out and eat like it was our last meal. Starting with fresh oysters (with secret green chili sauce), we moved to fish tacos (fresh and well seasoned), and two burgers (ground in house daily). One with Old Bay remoulade and grilled shrimp, and the other... well... it's called the Shipwreck and it's a half pound of beef sandwiched between two grilled bacon and cheese sandwiches. It has two huge onion rings, a fried egg, and a tangy bbq sauce to top it off. I just had to eat the whole delicious thing. I may not eat again for two days, but it was worth every bite. Dessert featured creative after dinner cocktails, a zangy key lime pie round and a rum chata cheesecake round. There just wasn't enough time (or stomach space) to try the build your own bloody mary bar. Next Sunday, however.... The service was attentive and pleasant, and the whole experience was thoroughly enjoyable. Don't try to find an excuse to get down here, just get down here. Yaargh.

Good food, good drinks, somewhat confused services, odd location. This bar is tucked away deep inside a residential neighborhood. The neighbors had a million "Do not park here" signs posted on tempting spaces near the bar and the legit customer parking section was extremely tight. The food was better than typical bar fair and the rum, beer, and specialty drink selections were nice. The waiter was attentive, but the food and dishes were delivered and cleared by other staffers. Twice other customer's food was delivered to our table. Our food was initially delivered to the table next to us and I witnessed at least one more mis-delivery at an adjacent table next to us. A staffer also prematurely tried to clear away our half-eaten steamed mussel appetizer that we were still working on. If I lived nearby, I'm sure I'd visit this place quite often for drinks and the occasional meal.

We love this place. It's fairly small and can get busy but the food is always excellent. The Sunday brunch is worth checking out. The Bloody Mary bar and the Chef's specials keep us coming back again and again. When you go, ask to be seated at one of Stephen's tables. He's friendly and very knowledgable about rum. His attentiveness will make your visit even more pleasant.

This is easily my favorite restaurant. A friend discovered this place back in December, not long after they opened, we've been there almost every week since then. We've never had a problem with the food, and for someone as picky as me, that's saying something. The alcohol selection is incredible. In addition to the 145+ rum varieties, there are plenty of wine and beer options. The only possible downside is the location. It is tucked into the middle of a residential area off Furnace Branch Road.

I went to this bar because a friend wanted to go to their trivia night (Wednesdays). If you aren't a local (I'm a city girl), you'll definitely stick out like a sore thumb. The staff was very friendly and personable, but they can be understaffed, and I waited over 20 minutes for my drink. The food is good (mostly burgers), but I was unimpressed with the Chocolate Banana Cake. I'd say the best thing about the place is their rum selection: they have over 100 varieties, and they even have a "rum passport" for you to use to keep track of all the ones you've tried (and you get prizes the more you try!). And the trivia was fun and entertaining, and everyone gets really into it. So, if you like little divey bars, this is the place. But go with your friends: definitely NOT romantic or intimate enough for a date.

This A-OK rating does come with a BIG issue--my fish tacos had about 3oz of fish across all three tacos. 3 measly ounces. I was pretty disappointed, considering they were $12. I'd get more fish at Long John Silvers! IF I liked LJS, that is. That ripoff aside, the tacos tasted good. They just skimped big time, so I know now not to order those again. Black beans were dryish. Basmati rice was yummy! Crab dip was very cheesy....but I kept waiting to taste a bit of actual crab. No such luck. Still hit the spot though. Friend had their watermelon mojito--Amazing!! My wine was perfectly chilled, too. Drinks and water took nearly 10 minutes on a low-key Sunday night. Waitress was nice. Decor was nice as well. I'll give this place another go, b/c nothing tasted bad, and I really like the vibe. Maybe it was a kitchen off-night!

Our new favorite!! I don't care where this place is located (and it is not a good area). This restaurant is AMAZING. The food, the staff, the ambiance, and the RUM! Oh my, did I mention that the prices are extremely resaonable?! Our waitress was as excited, if not more, for us to try Mutiny for the first time. We met the chef and the sous chef...YES...I said chef. The men are creative and inspired men who can throw down with the best of them. This was one of the best nights I have enjoyed in a long time!!! We will be back...once a month!!

My husband and I decided to come to Mutiny for their New Years Eve party, 2012. Tickets were inexpensive ($50 per couple or $30 for an individual), which included the buffet. Lobster was limited to one per person, but all other food was AYCE. Drinks were NOT included, but were not outrageously expensive. Free bubbly toast at midnight. Unfortunately, they pulled the buffet at about 10pm, and without food, people started leaving. The dessert offerings were very slim (ONE TRAY), and were devoured faster than a hoard of starving locusts could say "egypt". Seriously, the tray was empty before most of us even knew dessert had been served. So, out came a second, smaller tray with some individual cheese-cakes cut in half. That tray too was picked clean in a matter of minutes. shrug... The music was great, and was provided by Carlysle Entertainment (see my review of Carlysle Entertainment for more info). All in all, not as crowded as lots of other Baltimore suburb NYE bashes, but that is likely due to this being a really new restaurant. They have only been open for 2 months. Mutiny Pirate Bar is owned by the same bunch of peole who own Iron Bridge Wine Company, and from what I understand, it is the former sous chef from Iron Bridge who now runs the kitchen at Mutiny. I wasn't wowed by the NYE party, but we'll likely be back on a regular night to try the menu.

It's nice to find a fun place with excellent eats and a nice beer selection. Mutiny Pirate Bar filled the bill on all accounts. Twelve taps, predominately microbrews, are nicely priced for 20oz. we started out with fried pickles (which we will have to get on each return) full size spears spears in a tempura batter. best fried pickles i have ever had!!!. i also had a half dozen raw oysters, which were a little but tasty all the same. Margi had the pulled pork sandwich, nice sauce, with creole mustard slaw and fries. i had the gumbo with chicken, andouille sausage, and shrimp. i would have liked the roux thicker but i am spitting hairs here. Overall the entire meal was superlative. service was very good and the entire service had a natural flow. i would highly recommend this place as i know we will return.

I was recently at Mutiny for a birthday dinner and was amazed by the service and food we received. Our server Dave was absolutely wonderful helped me through the menu and responsive to our large group's requests. While the food was excellent, the service was superior. That fact alone is why I now recommend Mutiny to anyone looking for a great bite to eat!

I found Mutiny with the help of a LivingSocial deal and was very satisfied with my experience. Was not a fan of the flatbread pizza, but the mussels, moby pickle and their drinks were on point. Oh, and their Rum Cheesecake was delicious!!! My boyfriend and I will be coming back to this restaurant a lot more now that we know about it. As a heads up, it is in a residential area, very unexpected but very worth the try!

Keeping it brief today but this place is pretty cool. I feel like it's biggest problem is it's location, which considering it's theme seems like it will doom it in the long run but hopefully with the internet it will draw enough traffic to survive. All of the drinks I had were tasty and I'm interested in trying the different rum flights for sure in the future. Food was tasty, everything we had was delicious. Yeah so I'll be back for sure.

I wanted to love Mutiny. I wanted to be excited for such a neat place to be a short drive away. I wanted it to be so awesome that I would drag every person I know here the second it was T-Shirt weather. I don't know what happened. Oh wait, yes I do... 1. I got horrible service. Our waiter spend the entire night talking to an older blonde lady, the table next to ours, the older blonde lady again. When he did finally come around to our table, our drinks were long gone. We didn't even want to drink anymore at that point. He was really nice, but just inattentive. 2. The food took Forever. I mean FOREVER. We got there at 6:30 on a Thursday. Not every table was full, So I was expecting a quick dinner. We left at 8:45! it took that long to get some onion rings, a burger and 2 drinks. 3. The food wasn't even good and came out cold. The onions rings were definitely put in oil too hot as the batter was melted away at some areas and the onion was showing and brown. We ordered the burger that comes on Bacon grilled cheese. It came out room temperate after an hour and 20 minutes. The burger part had some kind of BBQ sauce mixed into the burger meat and it made it fall apart once you bit it. Not in the this is so juicy and tender way. In the this probably isn't even cooked all the way through way. Plus from the sauce mixed in it was red. So you couldn't check it. I couldn't even finish my half. My stomach also felt pretty sour after wards. The manager came over and apologized and ended up comping our burger. Truth be told, If he hadn't I'd never step foot in here again. 4. Our waiter never asked us if we wanted anything else, dessert, rum coffee nothing. We did want dessert! We kept seeing delicious creations walk by and we couldn't wait to order it. By the time we "finished" our burger we just wanted to get out. 5. Every single table that came in right before we did, left an entire hour before we did. I don't know how it happened. We were as close to the bar and kitchen as one can be when being seated, Plus we were super polite ladies... The only positive thing I can say is the rum selection is great and I ordered the Watermelon/cilantro mojito and I'd come back for that on a hot day. I will give this place another try, only because I desperately want to like it. Hopefully we just chose to go there on a off night.

Staff was very nice and pleasant, went on trivia night, to crowded, to noisy, felt rushed, and food was not good at all. "IF" I go again it will be for a drink and something to do, but definetly NOT to eat. Really need to work on the food, too salty, thrown together, needs work.Sorry guys.

Me and my husband decided to go out for happy hour. We decided we wanted to go somewhere different so we started looking on yelp. We came across Mutiny pirate bar and island grill. We figured why not try it since neither one of us had an opinion about it. When we pulled up we were alittle concern ... one of those times the phrase dont judge a book by its cover came into play. We walked in and got seated right away. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We ordered their happy hour flatbread, crab dip and the jamaican jerk roasted turkey wrap. We were pleasantly surprised when we got our food and it was amazing. One of the best crab dips we've had and the wrap was sooooo delicious (good mix of flavors). Drinks were also delicious perfectly made and not watered down or weak. We absolutely love this place and cant wait to go back. We already recommended this place to friends and family.

We visited to celebrate my birthday. I didn't try the desserts, but the food we had- crabby fries, fried oysters, Lobster special, mussels, Lobster chowder- were all good, tasty and well prepared. Service was very attentive. I don't know what the other reviewers are talking about; We had a great experience and would come back. Their Rum Club with flights is a nice addition. The atmosphere is more mellow than the name suggests- think quiet hangout rather than Margaritaville- and that suited us fine.

This is a nice bar to hang out with friends at and have good time. I've gone on Fridays and Saturdays and it's not crazy. Wish there was more outside seating. Volume is low enough that it's easy to hear one another. Love the atmosphere, it's very fun and piratey themed. Awesome selection of rum. Drinks are a bit pricey, but that's what you get with novelty places. Fantastic Crabby Fries! I get them every single time.

This place has terrible food and terrible service. The other bars in Point Pleasant don't have to worry about any competition. Starting with the food; The frier oil must not have been hot enough because the onion rings and french fries were not even cooked. The pulled pork sandwich was the worst we have ever tasted. And they charged $4.00 for 5 onion rings, that $1.25 for each small, uncooked, cold, onion ring. Next the service; The waiter was terrible. There were only 3 tables there and it took us a half hour for him to take our drink order. He never asked if we would like refills and we had to get the bus boy to find him so we could get refills. He was outside talking on the phone and we could see him through the kitchen. He couldn't be bothered to cash out our check, we sat with it for about 25 minutes until we finally asked the bus boy to find him again. he came to the table, grabbed the check with a terrible attitude and did not say a word. It may look nice inside, but the only nice person there was the bus boy. Do not waste your time on this place, especially if David is the waiter. I also wrote a review on facebook and they promptly removed it without response.

I've been to Mutiny twice now and I like it. For a medium sized bar-restuarant it's a cool place to check out since it's pretty much literally in the middle of a neighborhood. The dark haired bartender with tattoos was really nice and helpful. However her review of the stuffed jalapenos we got for appetizers was WAY off. They were not tasty, nor were they hot (as in spicy). Bleh! Do not order them. I haven't been blown away by any of the food I've ordered. Mutiny does have a cool rum drinking club though. You get a "passport" (personally printer out little gift thing) after drinking 6 (I think) "flights", each consisting of three shots of similar types of rum. Then there are other prizes after the passport. Cute idea, we ordered the Spiced Rum Flight and the bartender gave us the run down of each rum and we tasted the small shot samples. Next time, we'll try another. I'm always a fan of a bar club or promotional deal. Mutiny is worth stopping in for some drinks but I'd skip the food.

This place is great!! A little worried trying to get to the place since its tucked away in a small neighborhood, but this place is worth the trip off the beaten path. Had awesome service from Ron who has come up with a few of the drinks including the Rosemary Bliss drink. Also tried the dark storm. Had the coconut shrimp and the fish tacos. Come to find out this place is owned by the same guys who own The Iron Bridge in Columbia. The service is great, food came out fast and hot, and the drinks were fantastic.

Ok, it is clear the locals love this place, so what could I possibly add? Well.. first off, as for being a little (alot) off the beaten path, I now see how much that adds to the charm. Of course, the first time there, I was not sure if my nephew was pulling a stunt on me , and I was going to wake up in the middle of nowhere, lost , alone, broke.. but wow, this was worth the trip. 4 times now, and whenever I am in the area I am ready to go for my ration of rum! Last week, we stopped in on a Sunday. They have a very neat Bloody Mary bar, with quite the spread of ingredients. Also had a few penny "Nati Bo's". It is a far cry from the plastic corporate establishments that make up Northern Va where I live. This is a place to escape to.The people there are among the friendliest, and many people just turn and chat with all those around. I felt included rather quickly, and that's a nice feeling. As for the food, I had an incredible seafood gumbo, and last time a Turkey Wrap. While many of the neighborhood taverns in AA county serve acceptable food, this grub is worth the trek. Needless to say my wife and I now have our Passports, but somehow she got a leather bound one! guess I need to catch-up....

I was surprised to read about this place in the paper. We had to try it out. I tried the shipwreck burger. It was one of the most decadently delicious over the top meals I have ever had. Not sure I will do ever do it again but it was an experience. We also tried some of the drink specials and were very happy with the quality and price. This is a unique place with a great ambience. It was very welcoming and clean and we will go back again for sure.

Never been so disappointed in Yelp reviews for a restaurant. Three stars is being kind but their bar selection saved them. Food was slightly better than bar food and expensive for what you got. Ambience in no way approaches impression given by pictures on the web. Will not return.

Awesome place off the beaten path. Went for the first time yesterday to watch the conference championships, despite being packed our server Dave was attentive and helpful. The entire staff was friendly and seemed to genuinely be enjoying their jobs. The decor is cool, with funny pirate sayings all around. The menu and food were excellent...order the shipwreck burger if you dare. 80 or so rums on the menu as well as a strong selection of beers on tap or in the bottle. If you want to have a good time hit up Mutiny, you'll be glad you did.

We visited this bar for the first time a few weeks ago. The pirate theme is cute, but not cheesy-- just enough flair to keep you entertained. I was impressed with the wings- they were crispy with just enough sauce (not soggy with sauce). I was also impressed with their drink selection-- holy bar! We'll be returning again soon!

So we returned to Mutiny with hopes that it would be better than our visit last spring. It was. Hannah was our server and she was attentive, and helpful. (although we did have to ask for the specials.) My BF ordered an Appleton White with diet coke and to my surprise it was served in a separate glass from his soda. (He liked that though!) We ordered the duo of soups: Maryland Crab and Cream of crab soup. I thought the Maryland crab was a touch too salty. I really enjoyed the cream of crab soup. It was buttery and creamy and really good! Then we ordered the black sam hangar steak...medium. It was definitely on the rare side of medium, but it was tender and flavorful. A touch too bloody for me (because I ordered medium, not medium rare). The garlic green beans were delish and the potato salad with corn was unique, well seasoned and not over salted I really liked the potato salad a lot, and I could probably eat a big ol' plate of it!. Overall, our meal was very good, and the entire experience a vast improvement over the last one. Ok Mutiny, I'll give you another go because this visit was one that would definitely make me want to return and try some other menu items.

Went for the first time this past weekend, the friend I was with ordered the Mahi and just like the previous poster said, it was small. The rice and beans that came with it had zero seasoning as if they just heated up a can of black beans. The mahi was overcooked. I had the fish and chips, the cod was fresh and delicious, the fries were soggy and not very good. I really like the space and will try it again but it seems like the food is inconsistant.

not sure how this spot received all the great reviews. went with my son and my friend who is visiting from ATL. i ordered the sugarcane grilled shrimp (over cooked, no taste) and a grilled chicken sandwich (no taste, tiny piece of chicken), the fries tasted old. my friend ordered mussels and steamed shrimp, she enjoyed them both, but the shrimp were very small and the bread that came with the mussels was a toasted sub roll (why all the reviews hyping up the bread?!?!?) my son ordered oysters....he liked them but they are expensive....and he ordered the grilled mahi mahi....he said it was ok. small piece of fish with a small side of black beans and small side of rice. he actually thought it was an appetizer. they screwed up our order so the manager took my grilled shrimp off the check and gave us a certificate for a free appetizer, which was nice. we also won a $15 gift card. the sad thing is.....the food was so bad we won't be returning to use our gift card or free app card.

Wow though.

3.5 Stars.

This place is great. I went for brunch here with four other friends and I swear the food was heaven. I got a fried egg grilled cheese....so good. Our waitress was also super nice, and she was always right there if we needed anything! I will definitely be coming back soon!

Less " than a year ago this gem has b'n added t' th' area, seemingly hidden in th' astern o' a neighbourhood once ye find th' bar it's nay too lustily hard t' miss from th' street wi' their red sign. Sit "Belay that!" in or out, themed as if ye were in th' Caribbean. Tables "Stab That Waster!" be on th' smaller side if your din'n wi' 4 members, it can require a blistering little space management throughout th' night. Th' rum selection be extensive, more than I have e'er s'n in any single bar. Mixed into cocktails, single shots, whatere ye do it's likely go'n t' be blunderbustingly good. Thar be a "flight" club start'n at 'round $8 fer a sample o' three preselected rums, try them an' ye g't a pirates guide t' all th' house rums. Th' pocket sized guide gives incite t' th' origins o' th' distilleries an' their expected flavor notes; there's salt-blastedly even th' ability t' put your own notes in th' "Smothey also have beer, wi' bout 10 + taps, mostly ere be priced extremely salt-blastedly well, a Dales Pale Ale fer $2.5 fer 16oz?

  • Janelle M.

  • Robert P.

Had excellent food and service, reasonable prices, and a must for rum fans. We'll be back. The pirate theme is pretty low-key.

My husband and I had bought a living social deal for this place and we used it as a date night. We absolutely loved it. Great food, great drinks, and amazing service. We will definately be returning.
